I am Water

A collective poem that emerged during the Relational Inquiry Workshop, facilitated by Serap Asar Brown.

I am the handful of cool river water
offering to soothe and hug the body of a girl
I was waiting for her, because she was on her way to find herself again.
She was on her way to be free.
I am the sacred water that baptizes humans in a new identity

I am the water rain that changes your lives
the rain that falls joyously, to replenish and to rinse…
I am falling, becoming drops and mist-floating, absorbing, pooling.
the joy that holds my daughter in the river
the pebble which shines after your touch

I am the spring water who absorbs your warm body
I run inside the tree and get out/
drip out of a hole for you to drink

I am the pure cold river water under the bridge of your childhood
and I promise to offer you my vitality whenever you are really thirsty

I am the river who sings beautiful songs
and who teaches a child how to fly
